A little girl's dream

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who enjoyed playing with four-legged friends. Some were amused, and some others curious. It didn't seem like a whole lot of fun when she faced a snarling face full of canines, but then it was rewarding when, slowly, they melted into her little hands. As all others did, this little girl dreamed too.. dreamed of working&helping these 4-legged friends when she grew up.

Many, many years later, while in front of a laptop, tapping away furiously, I realized that every minute of every day, I was creating more & more excel sheets that I cared lesser & lesser for. Yes, it did pay me and I did splurge... but that little girl inside me felt her hands had lost the warmth of her childhood. It took severe heart-aching longings to plunge into a life of uncertainty and pennilessness. But I finally did it - I listened to the little girl in me.

It's been a month now and I have earned my very first salary. Amusingly, it IS equal to my very first salary as well. Is it worth it I ask myself sometimes - the endless hours of waiting for a customer's call, the doubts & fears of being an "entrepreneur", oh and of course, the pennilessness! And the answer comes to me before I can blink an eyelid - YES!

I have a pet grooming business and a home - boarding facility too. I have a long way to go before I would need to pay taxes, or worry about splurging. But I know now, that when a dog meets me, he doesn't just meet me; he meets the little girl whom he has missed all these years. Though a short journey, I'm convinced that this is the best decision of my life... and I'd like to thank the little girl for dreaming for me.
